Starcraft Tournament

We would like to start off with a Starcraft Tournament. We chose Starcraft on Iccup for a few obvious reasons.

First of all, the people playing Starcraft today are pretty much all people who watch Korean pro-leagues, gomtv and such. This makes for a very competitive mindset which is illustrated by Iccup's ranking system. The ranks make it pretty obvious as to who is "superior" to others.
We have confidence everyone will want a chance at proving their skills, or just seeing where they stand among their fellow redditors.
Starcraft is also played 1 v 1 and thus if the turn out is slim, we can still hold the tournament.

Another reason would be that Iccup has a built-in latency and should eliminate most lag problems that would otherwise destroy the game, the same goes for its built-in Anti Hack system.

We don't need to supply a server of our own and that makes things a lot simpler!

It's already been said in the intro, but we'd like to remind you that ANY skill levels are welcome to the tournament and this is as much an effort to get the community closer as it is a fight for the title as champion! (We're just D-/D level and as the comments would suggest, most of us here on reddit are, so there's no reason to fear a severe beating, since you might just be the one who's wielding the beating stick.)

If you have never played on iccup before, do not be alarmed, just mention it in the mail and we'll help you with the installation.

So now for the more practical part: How to participate!

If you're interested in participating in the Narwhal Cup, please send an email to NarwhalCup@gmail.com with the subject Starcraft and include the following:

-Iccup Nickname (This nickname will be used in the tournament roster.)

-Times at which you will be able to play (Please mention your timezone as well, as we will have to make sure you have an opponent at a suitable time!)

-Rank on Iccup (This only applies if you have played on Iccup before.)

We will try to put you up against people from the same timezone and skill levels.

The Tournament will probably be played over the course of a week since we're a world-wide community and Timezones are an issue for most. (Jobs and whatnot.)

For now we'll take registrations for interested people and we will contact everyone about the dates/times they'd have to play and check if they are available.

More info coming soon.

Edit: It's perfectly OK to invite friends, the more the merrier!
