The first matches have been played, the replays have been posted and here are the first results!
The first match ended in victory for KeSPA_Referee(Protoss) and a loss for Rinoh(Terran).
In the first battle KeSPA_Referee eradicated Rinoh's Marine and Stank army in a flank with his goons followed up by an attack on Rinoh's base. The GG was soon to follow.
The second battle was a lot less aggressive, both players building up their economy before attacking. After a long struggle KeSPA_Referee outproduces Rinoh and gets through his defenses, making the first match a win for KeSPA_Referee. Rinoh is the first name on the loser's bracket.
The second match ended in victory for danlock2(Protoss) and a loss for Tyaedalis(Zerg).
The first battle started out slow, both players building up their economy and generally playing it safe. Tyaedalis makes an army of lings hydras and mutas, with a couple of lurkers as support and danlock2's army consists mostly of zealots. The first attack is barely repelled in time by Tyaedalis to protect the greater part of his economy. Then danlock2 makes corsairs and more zealots to deliver the finishing blow.
The second battle ends swiftly as danlock2 uses a two gates strategy to quickly rush Tyaedalis' base with zealots who is unable to repel them.
The third match between Red_Storm and Anglachel (me :D) was postponed to the next day due to me being very tired from getting up early to go to school. Since Red_storm was being substituted by Tiggle anyway, this wasn't much of a problem.
The match ended in victory for Red_storm [Tiggle(Zerg)] and a loss for me Anglachel(Protoss).
The first match Anglachel used a 2 gates strategy to counter Tiggle's slower build. Tiggle's economy is crippled by the first attack of zealots. Anglachel gains the upper hand and manages to keep Tiggle weak until he can pump out enough units to finish the job. (Take that Tiggle!)
The second match however did not go so well for Anglachel. Anglacghel fakes a fast expansion but Tiggle was going for a double expansion so his tactic is in vain. Tiggle manages to keep his second expansion hidden from Anglachel's radar and is able to outproduce him. Anglachel's weak army is crushed by sheer numbers from Tiggle's side.
The third match ended very quickly. Anglachel is unable to stop Tiggle's early zerg rush and loses his entire economy, the GG is in at less than 10 minutes.
The fourth match ended in victory by default for agorist and a forfeit for Coderob, for not showing up in a reasonable amount of time from the agreed hour.
The fifth match ended in victory for johnn(Protoss) and a loss for .bread(Zerg).
In the first battle .bread screws up his start and is at a disadvantage. johnn responds by taking out his natural and blocks the ramp with a couple of zealots. In a last attempt .bread uses his mutas to try and take out johnn's expansion but johnn has more firepower and ends the game.
The second battle starts with a failed ling rush by .bread. When he has a new zergling army .bread scouts for expansions but fails to find anything, johnn uses this time to attack .bread's natural and manages to take it out. Then .bread makes a nice flanking maneuvre taking out part of johnn's army, it's not enough however and johnn is able to take control of most of the map. Using this advantage johnn manages to increase his economy and pump out a large army of dragoons. A last try at an attack with fully loaded overlords ends in failure and johnn takes the win.
The sixth match ended in victory by default for Agricola and a forfeit by stafu, for not showing up in a reasonable amount of time after the agreed hour.
The seventh match ended in victory for hc6 and a loss for Lightshadow_AF. hc6 played protoss the first battle and zerg the second. Lightshadow_AF played zerg the first battle and terran the second.
The first battle started out slowly, both players getting an expansion before making first aggressive contact. Lightshadow_AF manages to get some lurkers into hc6's base, he manages to take out the nexus but doesn't know that hc6 already had one more expansion than himself and he is able to keep himself in the race. hc6 then destroys Lightshadow_AF's expansion with a brave zealot only charge, while in the knowledge that Lightshadow_AF has mutalisks. The zealots move on Lightshadow_AF's main base and he surrenders.
The second battle opened with a marine and scv rush bij Lightshadow_AF. He follows this up with a bunker at hc6's base. Lightshadow_AF manages to keep hc6 locked in. When hc6 destroys his bunker he suddenly calls GG and surrenders.
The eigth match ended in victory for Zhobes(Terran) and a loss for Berathenor(Terran).
The first battle lasted long.... very long. Berathenor started out by placing his siege tank outside of Zhobes' base. Zhobes responded in kind however and placed a few of his own. After landing a siege tank in Berathenor's base and destroying much of his economy Zhobes locked Berathenor in his base with a wall of siege tanks, goliaths, vultures and missile turrets. Berathenor manages a few excursions and takes out two of Zhobes' expansions. After about 50 minutes of game time though Berathenor decides he's had enough and forfeits the game.
The second battle was almost the complete opposite of the first. After a few minutes Zhobes decides he wants to end the game fast and grabs all of his scvs and marines and rushes Berathenor's base. Berathenor is quick to call the GG.
